Overview of Thunder AAA Hockey

The Thunder AAA Hockey Association, established in 2001, provides the best young ice hockey players in the Southeast area the opportunity to compete at the highest competitive level.

About Thunder Hockey

· Since 2003, Thunder Hockey has maintained its not-for-profit status pursuant to the guidelines and directives required of not-for-profit corporations under IRS Regulations Section 501(c)3.

· Today, Thunder Hockey remains true to its original goal - to challenge student/athletes with the highest level of competition, expose them to professional coaching, and provide them with opportunities to showcase their skills.

· Thunder Hockey ultimately measures its success based on the number of student/athletes from the program that advance beyond the Thunder Hockey program. Thunder Hockey strives to put student/athletes on the path to "non-pay to play" leagues and teams such as the NCAA, USHL, NAHL, or OHL. There are many opportunities at the "next level", but the right opportunity is the one that matches the academic, athletic and personal development goals of each individual student/athlete.

Mission Statement

· Provide student/athletes, in the Southeast Region, with the opportunity to compete at the highest level of amateur hockey available under the USA Hockey structure.
· Provide an elite quality coaching staff specializing in high performance training for intense competition, where players will have the opportunity to fully develop their athletic and team skills.
· Provide Thunder athletes with an opportunity to achieve their academic and athletic goals throughout high school and college.
· Hold Thunder hockey players academically accountable and to provide a forum where all players can further their leadership and citizenship skills.
· Conduct operations with a level of fiscal responsibility, which will ensure the viability of the organization for the future.
